Use of Mobile Applications in Vestibular Rehabilitation
Batelková, Barbora ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Bárta, Martin (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the use of mobile apps in vestibular rehabilitation. The main purpose of this thesis is to provide market research of mobile apps currently available at Google Play Store. Additional goal is to provide an overview of current literature relating to the use of the mobile apps in vestibular rehabilitation. Theoretical section summarizes knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, vestibular compensation mechanisms and vestibular rehabilitation practice. It also provides a brief information about mHealth apps and rehabilitation apps. Following topic is a retrieval of the literature scoping mobile apps in vestibular rehabilitation and a search of mobile applications available on the Google Play Store, that are or may be intended for use in vestibular rehabilitation. Experimental section consists of two case reports of patients with vestibular hypofunction using mobile app for 4-week therapy. Patients underwent 3 measurements (before, during and after the therapy) including Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction and Balance (CTSIB), Functional Gait Assessment (FGA), and Dynamic Visual Acuity Test (DVA). Also, a standardized questionnaire The European Evaluation of Vertigo scale was used and finally, patients were asked about satisfaction with the...
Evaluation of effect of mobile application CF Hero on compliance of inhalation treatment and respiratory physiotherapy of pediatric and juvenile patients with cystic fibrosis
Jirásek, Martin ; Plešková, Jana (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the adherence to inhaled treatment, its measurement, telemedicine and telerehabilitation and the possible use of the CF Hero mobile app in paediatric patients with cystic fibrosis. In the theoretical part, it presents knowledge about cystic fibrosis, adherence to treatment in patients with cystic fibrosis and possibilities of its measurement, telemedicine and telerehabilitation. The practical part describes the CF Hero mobile app, which has been the target of measurements on several patients. At the same time, a questionnaire was developed focusing on satisfaction with the use of this mobile application. Methods: The practical part was conducted as a multicentre prospective cross-over study investigating the effect of the CF Hero mobile app on adherence to inhaled treatment, respiratory quality of life and chest excursion The evaluation was conducted over a 6-month period, with the primary objective being to measure the amount of exhaled solution relative to the prescribed amount. Simultaneously, each patient underwent 3 identical examinations. These examinations included spirometric testing (FEV1, FVC, MEF50), measurement of chest excursion (axillary, mesosternal, xiphoid) and quality of life assessment using the CFQ-R questionnaire. It also included measurement of...

Czech developers and mobile platforms
Alexandre, Berenika ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Huněk, Filip (referee)
This Master's degree thesis deals with a specific area of creative industries: development of mobile applications. The aim is to identify and understand the work routines of Czech iOS developers while considering the importance of design as one of the benchmarks of mobile application quality on the Apple App Store. I mainly focus on mapping work routines of selected developers and their thinking about design in the context of Apple devices and iOS platform, assuming that Apple establishes a high standard of visual and functional qualities. I am addressing an issue of application usability not only in terms of design of the user interface, but also its functioning and more aspects of application development within the ecosystem of Czech mobile app industry. The theoretical part of my thesis subjectively describes fundamental concepts from the mobile app development field and theories related to the topic. Empirical part of the study is based on qualitative interviews with 9 Czech mobile app developers and following thematic analysis. This study can serve as an interesting resource of understanding of the work of Czech mobile app developers, how they think about design and Apple as a platform or as a solid foundation for further quantitative investigation to confirm or revise my findings.
